The Hanuman Mission makes History in Ajax.

The Hanuman Temple and Center for Religious & Cultural Research is the first Legal Entity containing the word “Hanuman” in its Official Name, which was approved as a Registered Charitable Organization in Canada, dedicated to the Life and Glorification of Hanumanji. This Mission was established single handedly in December 2002. Ajax South Asian Cultural Center was established in 2003 as a Cultural and Heritage Organization to address the under serviced needs of the South Asian and Indo Caribbean communities in the Durham Region.

The Hanuman Mission was legally incorporated in 2002 with one single charitable object like most other Hindu Religious Organizations. It was established under the principles, guidance and virtues of Hanuman, known for his selfless service, our mandate was expanded to being a full fledge Service Oriented Organization and Mission. It was approved for promoting, teaching and enhancing the doctrines, tenets and culture associated with the Hindu Faith.

Significant contributions were made for the awareness and education of “Hanumanism” in Canada, a coined phrase by Bally, also being the first in Canada to play the entire Hanuman Chaleesa on Television, with the support of Masala TV, seen coast to coast in Canada, USA and Caribbean. We were now involved with hospitals, outreach activities and distributed 5000 copies of the Hanuman Chaleesa to Canadians, North Americans and others in the Caribbean Region for free.

2003 was a successful year as we started off the first Hanuman Mission in Canadian History. We were also responsible for introducing Hinduism to the Town of Ajax and had the first mandate to build the first Hanuman temple in Ajax or anywhere else in Canada, with the knowledge available today.
