The Hanuman Mission was Conceptualized and Created in April 2002 by Dr. Balliram Chadee, the Founder and President; as a gift to himself for his 40th birthday. The mandate of this Personal Vision was to be a different type of organization, operating on Ethics, Sincerity, Principles, Moral Standards, Traditions, Heritage, Customs and one which is free from politics, personal gains or private interests. An organization serving members from the Caribbean Region who actually had a unique identity, flexible traditions and tested customs which came with imbedded heritage values and philosophical meanings, paving the way for past, present and future existence as Indo Caribbean Canadians. It was a Vision for a Mission to have a Voice, Make a Difference and bring Change to Indo Caribbean Heritage and Traditions here in Canada.

The journey was set to establish the First Indo Caribbean Cultural Center and Heritage House in Canada, destined for Ajax, Ontario. The Hanuman Mission was established in 2002; as a Service Oriented Organization in Canada to help members of this community with Culture, Faith and Heritage. The Hanuman Mission fosters a "three fold" dimension which reflects Culture (Humanism), Service (Humanitarianism) and Heritage (Hanumanism).

The "AJAX SOUTH ASIAN CULTURAL CENTER" addresses the needs and requirements of our rich Heritage, Culture and Traditions as "Indo Caribbean" South Asians here in Canada. The "INDO CARIBBEAN FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES" which is the first ever Registered Social Support Services Organization in Canada for Indo Caribbean Immigrants, addresses the Social Needs and Support Services requirements of our community. Finally "THE HANUMAN MISSION", the ONLY REGISTERED CHARITY with the name "Hanuman" was designed to satisfy the under serviced needs of the Indo Caribbean Hindu Community and Devotees of the Lord of Strength, Knowledge and Virtue.

This Personal Vision then became a Legal Reality and was materialized to be known as:
The Hanuman Temple and Center For Religious & Cultural Research”.

The names of “The Hanuman Mission”, "Ajax South Asian Cultural Center" and "Indo Caribbean Family Support Services" are all Legally Registered entities in Ontario. A Logo depicting the symbolism and mandate of The Hanuman Mission was then launched in February 2005 & witnessed by the MPP, MP and Durham Regional Police.

The Hanuman Mission was further molded to become a full "Service Oriented Model" to Ajax, Ontario, Canada and the entire world, unmatchable even till today. This Mission has embarked on various support initiatives to assist the community it was designed to serve, including Marriage, Divorce, Counseling, Mediation, Social Service Support, Chaplaincy, Settlement, Newcomer to Canada Integration, English as a Second Language, Victim of Abuse Support, Drug Abuse Support, Conflict Management and Cultural Diversity.

We have grown as an organization to establish relationships with Essential Government Services at Municipal, Provincial and Federal levels working with all elected officials. We have contributed to various causes and fundraising initiatives to organizations in Canada such as United Way, Salvation Army, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Hospitals, Food Banks, Town of Ajax Advisory Committees and Durham Regional Police Service among others who have benefited from our organization directly or from our Senior Executives.

We are the FIRST and ONLY known Registered HINDU and INDO CARRIBBEAN Charitable Organization in the Town of Ajax. We hosted the First ever LIVE TRIBUTE TO HANUMAN in Canada in April 2004, with over 1200 attendees for FREE; NEVER YET DONE in Canada. We conducted the FIRST HANUMAN JAYANTI Celebration in the Town of Ajax in April 2004, and have been doing so since, with assistance from the Town of Ajax for use of their facilities at HMS Hall and Ajax Community Center. We have also conducted the FIRST MAHA SHIVA RAATRI Celebration in Ajax on the Town's 50th Anniversary observance and continue to do so annually.

We are Registered and Authorized to Operate a Private Career College in Ontario, as a Training Institution offering Diploma and Certificate Programs in many fields including Music, Dance, Tabla, Harmonium, Singing, ESL, Hindi and Sanskrit Languages, Wellness Yoga, Newcomer Settlement and Immigrant Integration. We are authorized to Train and Certify Pundits (Hindu Priests), Indian Music Teachers and Cultural Artists in Canada. We have to date Certified Five Teachers in Indian Music and Cultural Arts.

The Hanuman Mission is managed by a Board of Directors and further guided by an Executive Council. The organization received the Ontario Volunteer Service Award in 2005 (5 yrs for Volunteerism and Service to Ontario). We also received the Ontario Spirit Tsunami Award in 2006, ONE TIME Award from the Ontario Government.

We continue to provide all services we are approved to provide to the Canadian public without charge or obligation. We continue to be the ONLY Organization in Canada who has brought the Hanuman Chaleesa on mainstream Canadian Television with a viewing audience of over 850,000 every Saturday morning. We are the only group to have provided a biweekly article on "Perspectives of Hinduism" through a Caribbean Ethnic Newspaper (Hotshots Magazine) written by Dr. Balliram Chadee.

We launched the"PROJECT 2009" Initiative, in 2006, a project which would ensure that a Ramayan (Hindu Sacred Text) is placed in Every Single Chapel Facility of every Hospital in Ontario by the end of year 2009, first project of its kind in Canadian history. In 2007, we Launched "A Hand for Hanuman" Project, which allows a donor to make a one time donation of $500 towards our building fund of the proposed facility; to become our permanent home here in Ajax. This donation would entitle the contributor to have a "Hand Plaque" placed on a wall in the Lobby of our Facility. All donations received for this project are being managed in a special account and would NOT be used for any other purposed other than what is stated. We launched "PROJECT ROLL ON" in Feb. 2009 as a venture to assist those less fortunate community members here in Canada as well as those in the Caribbean Region with physical disabilities and requires the assistance of Wheelchairs to provide mobility. We are at the last stage in our property acquisition venture and are working the various levels of governments to see this realized in Ajax.

Founder/President’s Commitment: "This mission was established for and is guided the Principles of Hanumanji, to serve the millions requiring help. It is intended to help the those who continue to seek his grace and blessings, achieve it, in an Institution of Learning, Support, Spirituality, Heritage, Healing and Culture. This mission will NOT WAIVER from this objective and NO COMPROMISE will be made by this organization, to change or alter its dedication and intentions from conforming to these doctrines fully, sincerely and purely. We will use the knowledge we obtain from this MISSION to fulfill the quest for happiness, contentment, spirituality and self gratification for the millions who aspire to be blessed by Hanumanji, get nearer to realizing that aspiration. The Hanuman Mission will remain a Legacy and Institution of PURE DEVOTION and SINCERE SERVICE to ALL MANKIND. It will remain a place "FREE of POLITICS" and would be SUSTAINED ENTIRELY to serve the OBJECTIVES for which it was blessed to be established and approved in Canada. For as long as I shall have the Health, Strength and Ability from Hanumanji to do so, this Commitment would be HONORED with ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTION, under NO CONDITIONS for ANYONE....

... This is my Personal Pledge to ALL"... Dr. Balliram Chadee. PhD, O.M.C.
